In 1996, Corey graduated from the Langley Fine Art School. He then apprenticed with his uncle Christian White of Haida Gwaii in 1999 for three years. He has also worked for his uncle, master carver, Jim Hart, at the Museum of Anthropology. In 2008, Corey's red cedar 'Butterfly' mask was featured in 'The Gathering' calendar, a calendar that highlights prominent First Nations artists working in BC. Corey is inspired by old pieces by great Haida artists and other West Coast artists.
