Walker Brown is part of the Eagle clan, and his Haida name is Geda Ku Juus. He was introduced to Haida art and taught by his paternal grandfather, Bill Stevens. Walker is also the grandson of celebrated Haida artist Bill Reid. He works in a variety of media, and is well-known for his limited edition prints. Walker also creates button blankets and sculptures in wood and argillite. He assisted in the carving of The Respect to Bill Reid Pole project in 2000, a pole which was carved and raised in honour of his late grandfather, now situated in the Museum of Anthropology’s Haida Village in Vancouver, BC.
