Edward 'Sonny' Grant began his working life as a graphic designer. After working in San Francisco, CA, for a few years, he moved back to Alaska, and began a three-and-a-half year apprenticeship with established stone sculptor Simon Koonook. He then went on to study with George John and Patrick Mezzena. He specializes in stone carving, and he works in both the Inuit and Tlingit styles.
