Mark Preston began his study of engraving precious metals with renowned Gitksan artist, Phil Janzé, while attending K’san in Hazelton, BC. He draws inspiration from both European art and Northwest Coast art. In the realm of Native art, Mark is influenced by the works of artists such as Bill Reid, Robert Davidson, and Roy Henry Vickers. Recently, he has been creating large-scale glass pieces in addition to his jewellery.
