Douglas is from the Wolf Clan (Nuu-chah-nulth). He is an artist who works in Sioux as well as West Coast styles on dance rattles, masks, miniature masks, cedar bark, silver, leather and antler. Taught by his father, acclaimed Nuu-chah-nulth artist Joe David, Douglas has been exposed to art from the West Coast and the Southwest his entire life. While Douglas now lives on Vancouver Island, he has travelled a great deal and has worked in Seattle, various spots in California and in Hawaii. He plans to develop his skills in printmaking in the near future.
