Victor was from Masset, on the Queen Charlotte Islands, and married the celebrated weaver, Primrose Adams. He created a great deal of jewellery, but he was also a wood-carver and canoe-maker. One of his canoes was featured in the 2005 book 'The Canoe: A Living Tradition'.
