2019 Charity Boxes

For the past thirteen years Lattimer Gallery has organized an event to help support the Urban Native Youth Association, a Vancouver organization which has been providing 21 prevention-focused programs and services to Native youth since 1988. UNYA’s work includes advocacy, community development, and providing youth with meaningful opportunities to provide input into their programs and services.

All of the work in the creation of these small cedar boxes is donated: the boxes are steam-bent and constructed by Métis/Cree artist James Michels; the promotion and collected funds is donated by Lattimer Gallery; and all the artwork is donated by the artists. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Urban Native Youth Association.

This year's auction will be held from November 23rd - December 7th. The prices displayed represent current bids. Bids increase by increments of $100. You can place a bid by emailing, calling, or dropping by in person. Bidding ends on December 7th at 8pm.

Boxes are on display at our 1590 West 2nd Ave location until 4pm on December 7th, however the final evening of bidding on December 7th will be at the Museum of Vancouver between 5pm-8pm. On December 7th, bids by email will only be accepted up until 7pm. We will only be accepting bids in person and by phone between 7pm-8pm on December 7th, so we encourage all absentee bidders to leave their maximum bids with us before 5pm on December 7th.
