"Instead of a single figure, I wanted to show several hummingbirds, to capture the energy of summertime. The reverse displays a sculpted Moon element, to represent the balance the moon provides to the natural world, but the overall design of the back also suggests a flower...a tie-in to the hummingbird motif." -Kelvin Thompson

This piece was created for the exhibition ‘Messages of Joy: Depictions of Hummingbirds in Northwest Coast Jewellery’ held at Lattimer Gallery between September 24 – October 8, 2022.
