24" x 30" Artist Statement: Growth and decay are presented in this painting as elements required for the process of metamorphosis. While in a process of change we are informed by the environment around us and are equal partners in protecting the state of that environment with our actions. These actions become a living, breathing entity whose livelihood and vitality are dependent on our consumption and nourishment. As a result of our actions, that which sustains us is in a weakened state and threatened to further harm; during this time inaction feeds the problem.
