16" x 20" Artist Statement: This painting is a celebration of the richness of form and diversity that is found along the Pacific Northwest Coast. Present in the painting are forms of the flounder fish and a crab hook. The process of creation started with the observation and curiosity of the design elements inherent within these forms. Upon a singular micro-focus on a single element of nature there is a space for transcendence into nature from which we come from. These same elements of design are inherent within us, and any harm or good that we do to nature we are ultimately doing to ourselves.
