"This bentwood box carries the breath of ancestral memory. It is a vessel for story, spirit, and song.
The Raven embodies ancient knowledge and reminds us that wisdom moves through both seen and unseen realms. Carved upside down, Raven speaks from the spirit side, representing our ancestors who continue to guide us beyond the veil.
The Woman stands as a reflection of our matriarchal strength. The life-givers, knowledge keepers, and storytellers who ensure our songs, dances and treasures endure through generations.
The Star shines as a symbol of Nuxalk wisdom, a light that has always guided us home.
This piece is an offering of gratitude to the matriarchs, to the ancestors, and to the sacred teachings that continue to move through our hands, hearts, and breath."
