Stygyoden is a mountain that stands in front of many Gitxsan villages in northern British Columbia. Not only is Stygyoden a force of nature in that it took years and years for the earths crust to smash together to form the mountain, but this mountain is a force of nature because to a select few of individuals there are many images that are visible on the mountain at different times of the year. There is also a legend that when a big Gitxsan chief passes away the mountain changes through a big rock slide. This is something I witnessed with my own eyes as my grandfather passed away.
