Oolichan Gathering represents one of the great seasonal events that reoccurs every year, the oolichan run which brings many creatures together to have the first fresh feast after a long winter. Sea lions, seals, ravens and eagles all swarm together and collect this shiny little nutritious fish. Oolichan were often traditionally processed inside bentwood boxes, and the silver paint inside references this.
