What is the measure of the human spirit?

Do the practices of surveillance, monitoring, analyzing, recording and tracking the human being provide a deeper understanding of the realities around us and our place within it? Does technological mediation empower and enhance the individual towards transcendental connectivity?  As we approach a transformation characterized by the fusion of the biological and digital worlds we are confronted with the question of “what it is to be human?”  What values, memories, dreams and fears do we carry forward?  What of the unseen world do we pass on the next generation?  That which  is imperceivable to the gaze of a camera, that which can’t be quantified, recorded and catalogued.
