Jaffa Gate was one of five prints produced as part of the Jerusalem Series; the others were: Faith of Jerusalem, Spirit of Jerusalem, Vision, and Western Wall. The series was commissioned by El Al Airlines, with the request that Odjig paint Jerusalem from her perspective.
