CULTURAL GROUP:
Kwakwaka'wakw/Ligwilda'xw
BORN:
1982
BIRTHPLACE:
Cape Mudge Village (We Wai Kai), Quadra Island, BC
Growing up in Cape Mudge, directly across from the Nuyumbalees Cultural Centre (formally the Kwagiulth Museum), Adam has been enamoured with his culture’s art for as long as he remembers. Although exposed to Indigenous art, Adam’s creativity initially led him to street art. Adam spent over 25 years creating murals with aerosol paint, developing his freehand skills, colour combinations and composition. In 2021, Adam shifted his artistic focus towards learning his traditional art forms. Adam is mainly self-taught and continues to learn and refine his practice every day.
