Steve learned from his father Robert George Collison, who also only carved argillite. His crest is Eagle and he is from the chits git tan nay clan. His uncle Frank Collison was a Chief in Masset. He mainly carved argillite in the 1970s and 1980s, and did not produce much after this. Several of his pieces were published in the book Pipes That Won’t Smoke, Coal That Won’t Burn by Carol Sheehan.
