Ron Hamilton, or Ki-Ke-In (“Long sounding thunder”), was born on the Ahaswinis Reserve near Port Alberni, BC, where he continues to live. He apprenticed with Kwakwaka’wakw carver Henry Hunt. Ron is a carver, a graphic artist, and a painter, as well as a fisherman and a scholar. He has contributed to many publications, including Listening to Our Ancestors: The Art of Native Life Along the North Pacific Coast (2006) and Native Art of the Northwest Coast: A History of Changing Ideas (2013).
