Nelson McCarty is a Nlaka'pamux (Thompson) / Nuu-chah-nulth artist from Lytton, BC. He began carving in 2011 at the age of 41. Despite his late start, Nelson took to the artform quickly and apprenticed under talented wood carver Gino Seward. His other influences include Jackson Robertson, Elliot Jones, and Alex Spence. Nelson looks forward to carving larger, more complex masks and totem poles as his career progresses.
