John Brent Bennett

John Brent Bennett is the nephew of acclaimed Haida artist Robert Davidson. In 2003, he graduated from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC. For his final project, John carved a 12-foot totem pole. In 2004, he enrolled at Concordia University in Montreal, QC, and went on to obtain his masters degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Printmaking. In 2010, John was featured in the A Tale of Two Artists exhibition held at the Bill Reid Gallery in Vancouver, BC. Additionally, he has collaborated on a number of projects with his mother, Joyce Bennett, a well-known Northwest Coast clothing designer. She utilizes motifs drawn by John for her applique textiles.
