Isaac Bignell

Isaac Bignell was a self-taught artist who lived between Winnipeg, Minneapolis and Vancouver. He was devoted to Native traditional ways which included his Native art, singing, dancing, and drumming. Isaac developed his own style incorporating sponge painting combined with long, flowing lines, and was influenced by Cree artist Garnet Tobacco. Well-known artist Russel Noganosh apprenticed under Isaac in 1979.
