"I read somewhere 'the veil thins at the loom' and thought about how special my loom is to me when it is warped up. It feels like a place between worlds where I can connect with weavers from thousands of years before me as I twist fibres together and weave them into something reborn, just like many of our ancestors or family does with different fibres. The sides of this box have flying geese designs to honour the Stolo Weavers Guild, and there is stacked triangles on the other sides to honour the Salish weavers who made the blankets that inspire me so deeply, that are now kept away in museums around the world. The tops of the vertical bars on loom have blank serpent head designs, and they are connected together with the bottom bar, representing the double headed serpent. I wanted this little loom to be reflecting supernatural history, and how makers can be tapped into a supernatural way of being."
