Fah Ambers is a member of the Turnour Island Kwakiutl, but also has ties with the peoples of Village Island in Fort Rupert. He began engraving silver in 1976, and the following year started carving wood under the guidance of Kwakwaka'wakw carver Doug Cranmer. In 1987, Fah assisted with the Wa'kas Memorial Pole, which now stands in Stanley Park. Special recognition was given to Fah Ambers and other artists in 1990 for their respect and donations of artwork for potlatches and various ceremonies.
