Ed Russ was part of the Eagle clan. He was a self-taught carver in argillite, silver, and gold, producing many poles and sculptures that are widely collected. He began his career as an artist, carving argillite with his brother, Gary Minaker-Russ, and his cousin, Ron Russ. The Russ family has a long history of argillite carving. Ed spent most of his time in Vancouver, BC, but had returned many a time to the land of his people. Ed passed away in 2006.
