Devin comes from a family of artists and been involved with cultural events as early as he can remember. Within the Kwakwawa'wakw Nation, he is part of the Ma'amtagila, Namgis, and Mamalillikulla tribes. His family crest symbols are Kolus, Thunderbird, and Whale/Dzonowka. He started working for his father (cutting, filing, polishing and finishing), around 2015. As of 2025, Devin is creating copper jewellery using ball pien hammering techniques. His parents are the greatest influences on his work, and he would like to eventually learn formline design and hand-engraving.
