Carl Stromquist began working as a full-time artist in 1992 with the production of original paintings and limited edition prints. He began working in wood in 1997 after training with Coast Salish artist George Pennier. Carl cites Robert Davidson, Dempsey Bob, and Charles Edenshaw as influences. Interestingly, he has expressed a strong interest in Egyptian forms and motifs, which can occasionally be seen in his designs.
