Mike has been carving jewelry since 1993. He was trained by his father, Charles Harper, who has been carving for over 35 years. Mike has completed a Mountain Gems silversmith course where he was taught how to inlay stones into metalwork. He's been influenced largely by his family; many of whom are established carvers in metal, wood, and other materials. His sisters, Carrie Matilpi and Victoria Harper are also jewellers.
