Love and Light is a limited edition print by Margaret August based on an original painting by the same name. It shows two eagles, the moon, and an owl at the bottom.

The two eagles surround the feminine energy of the moon, offering their devotion, strength, and protective powers. The owl represents wisdom, security, and clear vision, even in darkness.

The moon appears in the mythology of all Northwest Coast nations. She is a guide, a protector, a guardian spirit, a timekeeper, and is also associated with transformation.

Margaret August is a Two-Spirit, Coast Salish artist from shíshálh nation. They were born in 1983 in the traditional unceded Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ territories. Margaret began their artistic journey at a young age, influenced by artists such as Susan Point, Mark Preston, and Butch Dick. In 2011, Margaret began showing their work in group art shows, and in 2017 they received a one-year Emerging Artist project grant from the People's Cultural Council. Margaret apprenticed under fellow Coast Salish artists Mark Gauti and Dylan Thomas. In March 2024, Margaret had a solo exhibition titled Re:birth at The Aunty Collective in Victoria, BC.
