Born and raised in Prince Rupert, BC, Nakkita is Frog clan from Wilps Axdii Wil Luugooda, The House that is Never Empty. She attended the Alberta School of Art and Design between 2009-2011 and then graduated from the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art in 2014. In 2017, she became an instructor at the Freda Diesing School. Beginning in 2011, Nakkita began researching and practicing Indigenous tattooing traditions. Between 2011-2013, Nakkita completed tattooing apprenticeships with Wicked Addication Tattoo Studio and Lyard Skynart Tattoo Studio. She was featured in the exhibition Body Language: Reawakening Cultural Tattooing of the Northwest at Vancouver's Bill Reid Gallery in 2018. In 2020, she went on to complete her Masters of Fine Art at Emily Carr University.
