Randy Price was born in Queen Charlotte City, but was raised in Skidegate. He comes from a family of artists, and his father is established artist, Norman Price. He started carving argillite at the age of nineteen. Three years later, the University of British Columbia's Museum of Anthropology purchased one of his argillite sculptures. In 1982, Randy began working in silver and gold. He has been working primarily in silver and gold in recent years.
