"It was 2014, 7 am commercial opening on the Fraser. I was just across from Steveston below the Albion, my first set as the gun went off. I just finished setting and looked up and noticed the middle of my net was gone and the end of my net the Bouy was nearing the stern of my boat. I thought I snagged the bottom of the river so i began to pick up, clumps of 50 sockeye coming over the stern, chaos as other people from the fleet setting beside me, I'm towing to keep my net straight and away from other fisherman, my deckhand yells to tell me the hatch is full which holds 800 sockeye. i look up and see what looks like 20 fathoms more to go, so I line out my cabin with tarp and loaded it up with 600 more sockeye.... just to think it was only a 3 hr fishery." - Jody Sparrow
