Skidegate, Haida Gwaii
Geoff Greene was encouraged to explore the artwork of his people from an early age, and he credits his mother and grandmother for his artistic interests. He often looks to the past for inspiration, and primarily works with conventional Haida colours, designs, and concepts. He greatly admires the works of acclaimed Haida artists Tom Price and Charles Edenshaw, who were prolific throughout the late 1800s. Geoff works in a variety of media, and he especially enjoys creating bent boxes, drums, argillite sculptures, and painted glass floats.
