Gary Starr works in alder, as well as red and yellow cedar, creating various masks, poles, rattles, and bowls. He started carving with his cousin, Kwakwaka'wakw carver Barry Scow, and has been carving since 1994. Gary works in a Kwakwaka'wakw style.
