Allashuaq Sharky, also known as Alashua, comes from a family of carvers. His grandfather was master carver Kuppapik Ragee, and his father was well-known carver Josephee Sharky. Allashuaq’s older brothers, Toonoo Sharky and Napatchie Sharky, are also carvers. He learned to carve from Toonoo at age 15. Allashuaq is known for his carvings of birds, including ravens, owls, and falcons. He also depicts dancing bears, drummers, and transformation stories.
