Cedar, acrylic paint, paper flowers.

This piece is part of our annual Charity Bentwood Boxes auction ending December 4th.

"This year I let my plants flower in my little city garden bed. I was told by my cousin, “it will be good for the bees,” so I listened, after all bees are important and many varieties are endangered. I had no idea my flowers would attract so many bumblebees. Every time I would pass by the garden there seemed to be more of them than the last time. I would be stopped in my tracks in wonderment and overcome by their cuteness. Observing their fuzzy, round bodies crawling, gathering, and resting on the flowers I would think to myself, “this is a sweet life.” This vibrant box layered in neon is a love letter and represents the pure joy and delight I felt every time I watched the bumblebees doing their bumblebee things."
