18" x 24" Artist Statement: The theme of this painting is the aspect of direct experience shaping meaning. Increasingly over the years the speed at which information spreads is speeding up. This information gets delivered by means of technology which become a mediation between the viewer and the information. In an age of mass visual bombardment, the responsibility falls on the individual to inform oneself. This depends on the degree that one wishes to involve oneself. We have seen in this city the effects of falling prey to mob mentality.
