Michael has apprenticed under his uncle, Randy Adams of Prince Rupert, as well as with David Boxley, who is an Alaskan Tsimshian artist. Michael was a member of the Tsimshian Hauyuuk Dancers and now belongs to the Get Hayetsk Dancers. He studied oral history and protocol from his grandmother Louise Baiton-Dangeli and has created a program called the "House of Culture" which offers classes and workshops. In 2008, Mike had his first solo exhibition called 'Traditionally Contemporary: The Art of Mike Dangeli' at the Copper Wolf Gallery in Vancouver. Michael creates masks, rattles, paddles, box drums, regalia, prints, and totem poles. Michael's crest figures are Beaver and Eagle.
